I will eventually be getting a Powerbook and am wondering if there is anyway to play GameCube games on one. If anyone knows of a solution, please post. I know that the analog-digital converters have to much lag to work well.

the best way to do it right now would have to be to use, like you said, an analog to digital adapter, but get one that's firewire so the lag and quality wouldn't be that bad. powerbooks don't have pci slots for any video-in cards (if there are any good mac ones, i'm not sure). the 15" and 17" powerbooks have PCMCIA slots for expansion, but i don't think there are any PCMCIA video-in cards around.

I play Game Cube and Nintendo64 on my Pismo PowerBook with the irez capsure pc-card, but only with Mac OS 9. There is not zoomed video support under Mac OS X, so no pc-card, no GC nor N64.

You can see here a picture, hope you like it:

The bad thing is since Ti 667 Apple dropped zoomed video suport on PowerBooks

the screen shows the Nintendo 64 ISS98 game where you can see Apple ads, cool

And if you are thinking about it, I heard the Nintendo with the SoundSticks.

Cool screenshot . Still, any future Powerbook I get won't be capable of running OS 9. I hope another option comes up. It'll still be a while before I can purchase the computer.

Try BTV, it can play tv tuner video full screen on my 20th Annivrsary Mac which has an apple tv tuner, which the apple player could not play in full screen.

ISS98 for N64 is an amazing game, I was just playing with my brother yesterday! We love it and play it all the time, but are looking to import Winning Eleven 6: Final Evolution from Japan for the GameCube (we would have to get the freeloader boot disc too)... Anyway, I don't need a game for a while, too busy playing Ocarina of Time over again on my GameCube and waiting for the new Zelda!!!!

Sorry, that was very off topic....
