How do I set the starting locations (not really sure its possible)? I'm tired of the usa starting in europe.
How do I add cities to a map with the new map editor?
With the map editor I can add a player starting location, but I can't tell which player number that location is (Brad Oliver, are you listening?). This makes it difficult to set Player1 to America, Player2 to China, etc.
Can I edit a saved game with the editor?
Can I save a game as a scenario so it can be edited by the editor?
Will any of these items be answered with "Play the World"?

I read over on the insidemacgames.com forums that the current file version for mac civ3 is not the same as the pc version and until it is updated we won't get these features.
it also sounded like this wasn't likelye.
BUT! I just checked out the new www.macsoftgames.com and they have a "Game of the Year" edition coming out. Doesn't look like a lot of new stuff but if they upgrade the file format it would be worth it.
Does anyone know anything about this?

Alright, I guess it could be a lot better then the first civ 3 edition then... I guess I'll have to order it ASAP. But what are all the difference then the first edition?

Ummm...I am not too sure of all the differences since I don't have the first version. But it is listed at Macsoftgames.com . One time for sure is that they'll have more races and different types of victories.

The differences are listed on the MacSoft website ( www.macsoftgames.com)
Basically, it is the 1.21g version of Civ3 with the editor, some videos and a few other extras that weren't part of the initial release.

So still no starting positions in the saved files?
So no point in buying it... bummer.

Yea... you can always just buy the first Civ 3 version, then download the update patch. Then boom! you have the game of the year edition. That's what I'll be doing, it'll save me like $20. I don't need that book or civ 3 edit. So no point of me paying $20 more for that stuff I won't be needing or using. So I'm just going to run down to the store and pick myself up a copy today.

You could get the first version for only $20? Where?
I just ordered the game from Apple Store, shipping on or before the 22nd of this month, but if I could get the regular one for 20 I am down, I am not gonna use Civ Editor anyways.
