I'm stuck on the grassy ledge on MYST island above the wharf (at the [sunken] ship) and just below the walkway to the stairs to the Library. Anyone know how to get down to the wharf or up to the walkway?

I've just finished playing realMyst and this hasn't happened to me. In fact I found it mostly bug-free! I know I had a hard time adjusting to the type of navigation in the game though.

Have you tried backing out of there? Sometimes when you're too close to an object in realMyst you just have to back up and change your direction. Like if you're too close to a wall since you can't go through it you have to back up and aim "yourself" differently.

I think the keyboard combination for backing up is "mouse click" + "option".

I'll try to find my little booklet that came with the game if this isn't helpful to you (it's in my tons of paper surrounding my iMac somewhere...).

Appreciate your message, which while it didn't work for me (I had tried Key-click combinations of that type), did inspire trying something different that did in fact work. Namely, I have a 2-button (Logitech) trackball with one button set to Lock (i.e., Click-Hold). By pressing it, then placing the cursor outside the area where I was stuck and pressing the other (i.e., Click) button I found myself outside the confining ("grassy ledge") area.

Good for you! I have the Apple Pro Mouse that came with the 17" iMac...

Now you can go ahead, discover and appreciate this great game! I liked it a whole lot myself!
