The latest version of "SNES9X Custom" for Mac OS X actually includes emulation of the C4 chip, something all Mac SNES emulators have lacked forever (since the original Windows C4 emulator was written in x86 assembly code). This chip is necessary to play Mega Man X2 and X3 -- and many people have been waiting a very long time to get a chance to play 'em.

I could elaborate for hours on the history of trying to get C4 support on the Mac, but I don't think it's worth it...

But, to anyone that cares... ¡voila!
Be happy.

I doubt many will be amazed by C4 support but it was indeed something that was unemulated on Macs until now.

I was really happy to see the SNES9x Custom team taking DreamSNES's C code and bring us C4 support that Windows always had.

I'm curious though...what other games make use of this chip besides X2 and X3? To my recollection, those 2 MegaMans were the only games to make use of it.

Indeed you are right.
But the world is filled with Mega Man fans, and X2/3 are generally considered th best 2 in the "X" series (both improved on X1, but X4/5/6 on PSX were sorta silly).
Be happy.
