I have two macs and one copy of RTCW.

Can I get a eBay'd copy of the PC version of RTCW and use the serial to play multiplayer between two macs? Both from the same install disc just different serials (one serial from the mac version and the other from the pc version)

Or is that shady side of things?

Thanks

Yes that should work for offline network play.

But I dont know if I would trust (ie: rely on) a Serial that came from eBay for online play.

Before you bid, get a guarantee from the seller that he hasn't distributed his key and that it will flawlessly work online for you. You'll find someone, I'm sure.
Be happy.

I wouldn't exactly trust a PC Serial to work with a Mac game...the Serial for OfficeXP won't work with Office v.X, nor for Win-Mac Photoshop, etc., so I wouldn't think RtCW would be any different.

Yeah it does (PC keys work with it).

I would expect this, as Quake III is a hybrid game in which both the Mac & PC versions come on the same CD, whereas RtCW does not.

Its not a PC or Mac Serial, its a wolfenstien serial!

I assume it dont matter if you have a mac or PC the serial should work as good.

RTCW serials are Quake3 serials with 2 random letters at the end.

Ahh, gotcha!

I just wanted him to realize it may not work, just as Office v.X will not let you in using a Office XP password.

Thats different... They are very different apps.

Wolfensiten though is a port. and it uses the SAME server to check the key (I know we could still have different ones but I doubt it)
