My Prob; Game play is really not smooth enough for me, or compared to other games I play such as MOH:AA, RTCW, Nascar2002, WC3, TH3, GR etc, which all play well on my G4 12" PB with 640MB of ram, just wondered if this is usual, and if there is anyway to increase performance (I've tried editing the .ini files and changing the in game settings without much effect).
Unfortunately I think the UT/OpenGL engine under OSX is seriously under developed/optimised, as HP&TCOS which use?s the same engine isn't too sprightly either, hope I'm wrong though.

Okay, after upping the resoloution to 1280X1024 form 1024X768 the game runs more smoothly ?!*@ (but not quite smooth enough for me.
I've noticed upping the screen res, can speed things up a bit in soem games befre on my Mac AND my PC (NvGF3Ti200) I remember reading once that on the PC when you up a games res to 1280X1024 the Nvidia drivers automatically use soem form of texture compression, because of the high Screen res, to make games more playable.
I read this about a year or so ago (quite a good source, I think an Nvidia engineer).
Not sure if it's still implemented with Vid cards getting more and more Vid Ram, let alone if it works on the Mac, but who knows
