Saw that there are drivers out for my xbox controller. Probably won't get them since I already have a playstation-like controller from macally...

The trouble is I only use it to play nintendo roms.

What other games would I use it for? FPS seem to work best with a mouse as do RTS games.

Can you all give me suggestions?

Well many games from Ambrosia Software (http://www.ambrosiasw.com) work very well. Demios Rising, EV NOVA, ect. Otherwise I don't use my gamepad for much other than ROMS (and neither do my PC friends).

90% of games are best with a mouse and keyboard. The exceptions are platformers (both 3D and side-scrolling; also includes generic 3rd-person 3D action games), racing games, and fighting games.

Most games that originally came out on an older console (SNES games or older) are best with a controller as well...
but new games, 99% of the time, are best with a mouse and keyboard. Assuming you have a 2-botton scroll wheel mouse, you have a controller with 111 keys (108 + 3) and pretty much instant turning speed. Sound much better than an Xbox controller to me (*shudders at sound of Xbox*).
Be happy.

Mostly emulation (save Racing/Flight). I snagged a iShock 2 the other day and love it! Keyboard was just not working for my old SNES games like Mario.

Didn't know they worked with EV:N...hummm...
