very bad network lag on Diablo 2 LoD between mac and a pc

on the same wireless home network, any suggestions? I had this running between 2 macs without this lag, when I switched to a pc it can get very bad at times, and other times it is fine. very strange

whoever is not hosting is who gets the lag

if anyone was wondering or having the same problem, a crossover cable fixed all the lag... I wonder if it was the wireless network
