Nope, the patch just balances units/races and adds a new armor type and magic damage.

So, who likes the new balance changes? I played a few games (4 on 4) last night, and I think casters are now way too strong. For example, in the 8 player map Bloodvenom Falls, there was a battle outside the lower left base that lasted long enough for my level 7 hero to die, for me to regenerate him, and bring him back to the battle. My team was, 1 Orc caster, 1 Orc tauren, 1 Human Caster, 1 Orc Headhunter. THe other team 2 Human caster, 1 Human Gyros, and I forget the other guy. The point is, that niether of us were killing any enemy units. The battle went on for at least 4 minutes. This never happened once before 1.06. It seems that Orc casters are particularly hard to kill now, expecially once they get to master.

In previous versions, casters were more support troops, but now, they can hold their own in battle. Whereas before a team that got all caster would get slaughtered, now that team has a good chance at winning.

Well, just my 2 cents. What do you think?

Actually, these changes, along with many others have been in Frozen Throne for a while and they are incredible. The game is so much more fun and you cannot mass a few units for your army. You need a mixed army. I haven't played regular wc3 in a while so maybe these changes are there to make the jump to the expansion less traumatizing.

Yea, I agree with that, it is better in small games (FFA and 1 on 1). But I was referring to large team (3 and 4 on a team) play. Basically casters seem much tougher and more like combat units than support units.

Ah well, I'll just have to readjust.
