My first preference would be "real" Tetris like the one included on Windows (argh!!) Entertainment Pack.
As opposed to just any "falling blocks" game.
thanks for any help.

Also, if you have fink (you should) check out GTetrinet.
It's a GNOME version of Tetrinet ported to OSX... fully compatible with the Windows version so you can play with the (rather large) following of windows tetrinet players.

Of course, if you want "real" Tetris you should get MacMame and play the original arcade versions.

Robster,
I've spent years looking for a decent mac tetris game myself. Haven't found anything worth paying for but, just tried "blockforgex" from the versiontracker.com link provided above . . . not bad. Not the exact nintendo version but still fun for tetris fans with plenty of tweaks to play with.
Shareware version only allows you 30 plays. OSX brushed aluminum theme and bright colours. Smooth play and nice sound effects. Worth a try.
cheers,
brian

tried several: i agree that Blockforgex is the best.
i will look into the nintendo emulator MacMame <??> and see if thats easy to do.
otherwise, i'll just play the windows version...which is either very good (in its simple addicting way)..or else i'm just so used to it.
btw..throwback to nintendo: i play a looping wav file of "dance of the sugar plum fairies" while i play!!

i'm surprised no one mentioned Quinn
i like it better than blockforge. Quinn doesn't have all the game options of blockforge, but it looks nice, and it runs well.

Tetris Plus, Copyright © 1995, Greg Fudala.
That is the best tetris game I've played. I wish there was one similar to it for OS X. Any suggestions?

Any programmers out there that are willing to convert Tetris Plus into a Universal Binary? I would love to play this again.
