Has anyone played this yet? I played the demo and it looks really nice - at least the demo does. It was very fast on my G4/450 with a Radeon 8500 and 640 MB RAM. I really liked the new swing controls - you just move the mouse forward and back to swing the club.
So, is the full game the same? Any problems?
TIA

Not to start some kind of HUGE arguement here.......but let's face it people. I'm a huge mac user....and a huge fan of Nintendo. You can buy this game for GameCube at any local retailer for $20. MUCH less than $50 for the mac version......and it looks and plays ten times better. This looks like a very small improvement over old Links golf games that played in a window on OS 9 and earlier. Bottom line.....there are some games that belong on Mac/PC and others that should never leave a game console.

I'd have to agree that the game looks and runs much better on console versions (the PS2 version at least) compared to on a Windows PC. Although I'd also have to say that the 'swing experience' is much better on the PC. Guess I grew out of games where you tap faster to swing harder? Looks like we're back to the point where console games are better than PC games (at least visually) again

I bought it after playing the demo for a couple of days, and I think it's great. DP 1.25GHz with gFORCE Ti card makes it play wonderfully. =)

Just installed it on a DP1.25 PowerMac. It runs fine, plays well and looks gorgeous on a 23" Cinema Display. In OS X the readme file tells you how to edit an OpenGL setting that is, by default, turned off(because Radeon Drivers don't play well with it) but if you've got 10.2.5 or higher installed it speeds up performance. I have the Stock Radeon 9000 Pro installed, and it did improve performance. I've got all the settings turned on with all the details(reflective water looks cool) it looks great.

I have played this game on XBOX and PS2, and when I heard it was coming out for Mac I was soooooo psyched.
I tried the demo, I hated it. I cannot put my finger on all the differences, but it's just not the same. I will stick with the console version, and I'll be playing the latest version long before my other Mac buddies are.

I thought I didn't need another golf game after that last Links game but purchased Tiger Woods and gave it a shot anyway..
I am simply blown away at how nicer it looks compared to Links. The scenery is nicer, the movement of the player & the green flows more naturally--you can literally 'zoom to the flag' at a flick of the wrist.. No flyby menu like Links..
I was a bit perplexed at first on how to hit the ball, I somewhat miss the way Links did it.. However with EA you really "get in the game" with the mouse movements..hehe..its fun but challenging..
Christopher
p.s. I wish EA and Aspyr would crank out more EA Sports games like hockey or football!!!

I'm really looking forward to playing the game. I ordered it a few days ago and it's waiting for me at the FedEx station.

Based on how the demo played I would disagree. I've played the Links games and I don't like them. I'm also not interested in buying a console.

You can change the swing to behave just like links.
