What, in simple terms, is the difference between Everquest and say Neverwinter nights?

I've played neither so take this with a grain of salt. They are more alike than different. You complete quests (campaigns) to move up levels. However, in NWN you have more freedom as to what campaigns you complete (you can make your own), while in EQ the quests are pretty much set (although you do have some choices). There are more players in EQ, which might make it more fun though. Anyway, hope this helps.
