Note, you must have Diablo II Lord of Destruction v 1.09 installed to apply this beta package. The beta does not offer an option to "restore" the previous version, so follow the directions in the README files.

Here's a link to a battle.net post with a good suggestion for installation:

It involves using aliases instead of copying the data files.

Hey rbarris, when're we going to see the REAL 1.10 patch? I'm already bored of single-player-only!
Be happy.

Does this patch include a fix for the hardware graphics acceleration?

Well to answer my own question.

No. it does not fix the OpenGL video problem. My frame rate goes from 25FPS to below 10 with even 5 enemies on the screen. It also has the stutter while moving even when nothing else is around. Software Rendering still works at least. My frame rate was consistant with no stutter.

Actually according to a post made by Rob at the IMG forums, it does include better hardware accelertation. You machine needs to meet the following specs for it work:
256MB RAM
OSX 10.2 or better
Radeon or GeForce AGP video or better

So if you're having problems you might want to email Rob about it.

The beta forum on www.battle.net (link included with the download and README) is where we are going to be focusing the majority of our attention - please file specific reports of issues with details there, so we can track them easily.

Hi Rob,

Thanx for posting in the gaming forum. I'm interested in the v1.10 update for the improved OpenGL rendering (I currently use software rendering v1.09). But I was wondering which graphics cards benefitted the most from the v1.10 OpenGL update. Is it a matter of video RAM (IE 128MB GF4Ti / R9700)? Or does just about any Quartz Extreme card show the same speed boost? thanx......joe
