I haven't got my copy of SimCity 4 for my Mac yet, but while I was browsing Electronic Arts SimCity web site, there is a section called "Cool stuff" where there's terrain editor, lot editor, landmarks, cities and regions for use. Would all those work on Mac version?

terrain and lot editor is a no. Hopefully they will release a Mac version

Buildings, cities, and regions do work for sure. Throw them in Home/Documents/Simcity4/Regions. Once at the main game screen, you can import them from there.

The buildings are .exe files, but you just have to put them in the plugins folder, also in your Home/Documents/Simcity 4 folder. If you head to sites such as simtropolis.com, and download lots. They are .SC4Lot files which also go in your Plugins folder
