Civilization II: When you are in the year 3000BC or so (haven't played this game forever) and enable the cheat mode and build a submarine for instance, how come the submarine dies eventually after attacking a city? In reality, the submarine should last forver in the year 3000BC (provided enough fuel and the such).

Age of Empires 2: How come the Incas and the Aztecs are so strong? I know that they don't have any calvary, but their hit and attack points are way too strong. Most indians wore little armor in battle (and weak armor at that) so AoE 2 should have low hit points on them, but they don't. Their attack points should be less because they really don't have metal weapons. How come they have the long-swordsmen? They never had that. What about the crossbow? They never had the crossbow either. Oh well....Post yours...

Well, in AOE2's case, they had to keep the game balanced (with your changes, no one would play Inca or Aztec).

Do I have a list of my own? Yeah, but I'm far too lazy to post it.
Be happy.

That being said, how come in almost every FPS game (disallowing Quake 3 type Multiplayer type games) the computer characters can get killed by one or two hits, but you have massive resistance. And why does shooting someone in the head blow up their body?

Etc.

We could go on all day. It's all a case of balance. FIFA 2003 got it right, my team (Partick Thistle) could hump the ass off of Real Madrid on a good day in Easy mode. If I had it set to World Class, I would get absolutely humped though.

Warfare games and stuff need a certain balance so that it's possible to do things without having to cheat. I hate it when you have to cheat to get anywhere in a game. Ho hum.
Hark, I hear a robin sig'ing in the trees!
Nae, there is no sog to be sug,
or am I wrog? Why can't I sig?

Why does Falcon 4 not simulate terrain masking well? It does everything else so exact, and a basic thing like ducking behind a hill doesn't always cause the SAM site on the other side to stop tracking you.

In Unreal II they don't give you enough pistol ammo, and the smoke and concussion grenades are useless.

In Chess that comes with OS X, the computer is way too hard. I have never beaten the computer without cheating. On easy. Has anybody beaten the computer?

Graphsim couldn't code a realistic flight model based on real performance data if thier lives depended on it. Instead, in the Hornet series you cannot go full afterburner vertical and gain speed. Even with no loadout. A real F/A-18 can. In the new Hornet game, there are no nukes, which took 90% of the fun out of the game: Loading up some nukes, taking off, turning around, and nuking your base.

I know a chess freak that can beat the
computer in easy. I was in the same room
as him. Does that count?

I guess so. I like chess, but I don't play mcuh so I am not that great at it. It would be nice if I could beat the computer and gradually raise the difficulty as I got better. But no. It's like wanting to get good at chess so you play the best person you know, and they don't go easy on you and don't give you any pointers.
