Will it work "okay"? It is based on the Q3 engine, right?

It'll prolly be unplayable. Maybe barely playable on Panther, who knows?

It was not playable on my iBook last time I played. I mean you *can* do the missions but it just lags like there's no tomorrow.

Now, -100 Mhz and -8 MB of Vram .... ehhhh.

yea ambush is right completely uplayable. I don't think its based on the Q3 engine, either way the pismo couldn't play Q3 at all period.

Err...
I can play e.g. Quake 3, Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2 and Star Trek EV just _fine_.
I'm on 9.2 anyway...

I'm quite sure it was made from the Quake 3 engine.

My 450 G4, 512 RAm, GeForce 2mx in 10.1 ran it extremely well when it first came out. Because you're in OS 9 you can probably squeak by on this one. But you must take a few things into consideration.

1) How much RAM you have. If you have more than 512 that would help a lot.

2) If you're willing to turn off all the effects and turn down the resolution.

3) Take the chance that there is a possibility that it will not run, or will not run well enough to play.

The biggest hindrance will be your 8 MB VRAM. But theres nothing you can do about that (except sell me your Pismo and buy a new iBook! Please!) Best of luck. MaxPayne is an awesome game. I really enjoyed its down and dirty detective feeling, along with the comic book like storyline. Its well worth your time to play the game. (Listen sometimes to what the bad guys say, they're so funny.)

I don't think it will run well at all. I use a 400 Mhz G3 at work sometimes.. and it would die on this game.

It's a bit choppy on my 867 G4 w GeForce2MX (it's probably the graphics card), so, I am pretty sure it will be unplayeable on the Pismo, with it's 8 mb video card.

Lots of games are based on the Quake 3 engine, but it doesn't mean it will run well. They are heavily modified, and updated, plus they have wayyy more polygons, waayyy higher res textures.. and a whole bunch of other fancy particle effects and the like. One of the big issues is the textures, 8mb VRAM is probably not enough for the game.
