Is anyone else playing NWN, and if so- are you having some odd problems? So far-

My inventory kind of disappears. It's all there, but only the first tab is populated, others appear empty. When I click away from the first tab and come back, the first tab is also empty. Closing inventory and reopening refreshes first tab- quitting and restarting game is only cure for rest of the panels. When this happens, by gold disappears as well. It doesn't show "0"- it just doesn't show anything.

This has happened twice.

Second problem- the game screen goes black- just the game part. The character drawing is still there, and if you click map/inventory/etc, they show up. Quitting and restarting is fix.

Happened once.

I like the game so far- but this is some weirdness.
Paco is bitter about the loss of his .mac webpage. Image will return when his sadness lessens.

When I was running the demo, after I talked to Aribeth my screen went black. Restarting the game fixed that problem. Now I've got the retail version and I've yet to have my screen blank out light that. It did almost do it when I saved my game but then the screen went back to normal.

Since no one has mentioned what they're system specs (RAM and OS version are typically helpful) are it's hard to pinpoint the problem. I'd make sure you're running 10.2.6.

12" Powerbook
640MB RAM
10.2.6

I'm a little bit into the game and I've yet to have my screen black out again. I'm running with model details at "Fastest" and have pretty much all the little featurettes turned off. It's playing really nicely on my Powerbook even with a bunch of bad guys on the screen and several spells in the air.

I think I expierience some of the same problems. From time to time the inventory gets messed up, mostly the game crashes shortly after that (had it three or four times), or I can't speak to anybody anymore the game crashes shortly after that (had it once).
It seems to me that this problems occur only after a long period of playing (damn this game is addictive) so it could be some memory leak.

cheers.

I'd strongly recommend posting at the Bioware NWN Mac support forums. There are lots of other players out there, and the Bioware staff are really helpful.

Also, it might be good practice to register your game there (so you're allowed "extra" site content). And before you lose your CD Key, you might want to store it in their secure servers there.

I haven't started playing yet. =D

Did anybody else notice playback problems on the opening FMV movie footage? It played really choppy on my system (not that I care, but this kind of thing makes a mac look bad if you're trying to encourage people to buy one):

733 mhz g4
768 mb ram
OS 10.2.6
external firewire cd-rw/yamaha CFW-F1
Now I know, and knowing is half the battle!
