I'm running into serious artifacts when playing SC4. I just got it and I'll move the mouse around and the graphics get all messed up, has anyone noticed this or a workaround? I've tried other things like adjusting resolution, options, even the plist window mode with no success. I'm using a PowerBook G4 15" 1GHz/1GB.

I just bought it like 3 days ago and am considering trying to get my money back since it doesn't seem to allow me to play as advertised. That is no good though it's a cool game from what I've seen and I can play some.

I'm glad to hear I'm not alone, anyone else? Any solutions?

In your SimCity4/Sim City 4 Data folder there is a file called video cards.sgr.

Open this file in TextEdit and search for the following line:

card 0x4966 "Radeon 9000 Pro"

I _THINK_ that's right, but the important part is the Radeon 9000 Pro...

Change it to read:

card 0x4c66 "Radeon 9000 Pro"

0x4c66 is the correct hardware identifier for the card in the later revision Ti's... however Aspyr goofed. I actually think there's something on their support website about this.

Anyhow, change that line and it should be much better.
Alex
