I wouldn't be surprised if we start to see people who play Everquest almost 24/7 sue Sony. Sort of like obese people suing McDonal's.

I think this is way different then what you describe. Over the past couple of years, there has emerged a real world economy for game objects such as characters, in game weapons.. and whatnot in games like everquest, and other MMORPGs. I think this case is brinigng this whole phenomenon to another level, it's challenging the idea that these things are just virtual and have no value. I can see this as yet another step towards establishing virtual property as something with real world value. Kinda weird huh? But games are getting like this.. they are becoming so big, so complicated.. that they are starting to mimic the real world in some respects, especially MMORPGs.

It worries the crap out of me is what it does. When people begin fuzzing the line between computer games and real life is when all the anti-violence pundits become right.
