So maybe it's me, but does anybody else think that somehow the axis seems to have the upperhand all the time in multiplayer spearhead? I don't know, the maps seem conducive to always trapping allies by the spawn points, their guns (especially the smg) seem to kill with just a shot or two, while allies seem to have trouble all the time. I'm a decent player on a good connection with a decent machine (933 g4, 64 meg geforce mx) but I just can't seem to get a leg up in spearhead when I play allies.

I just played as both Allies and as Axis. And I have to say that the Axis SMG does seem to pack a bit more punch. I was able to kill and enemy with only two shots. Seems to take a little more with the Allied Thomson Gun. Could be that this is reflective of historical fact. The Germans did have superior weaponry throughout most of the war.

One other difference I did note however, is that the German sniper rifle is considerably inferior to the Allied one. It has horrible recoil, causing you to momentarily lose site of your target. A real pain if you miss your first shot.

The German assault rifle does seem to be handier than the BAR. Very odd that they should put these two as equals on the weapons chart but I suppose there was no equivalent to this weapon when it came out in 44.

Most of the German players we game with dislike the German bazooka (panzerschrek [?]) because of the shield it has at the front which causes you to loose the target for a time when the barrel comes up when you pause to fire.

Some times in our games we die up which weapons to take in, a "1" and everyone takes in a rifle, "2" its an "SMG" and so on. Games when everyone has a bazooka are wild.
