No I just think its lame to close a thread asking about a NO CD patch for a game. I paid for the game I want the same convenience I get from every other piece of software I buy!!!

Agree 100%!

Having to have the CD in the drive while playing is dumb*. It's especially stupid when you're using a portable.

I can understand the concerns the game industry has though. Requiring the CD is an easy way for them to help keep honest people honest. But it's also an easy way to piss off the honest people.

* CD spins up, CD slows down. CD spins up...
whaawhaawhaaa!!! CD stops for a bit...repeat

Why not just use a serial number? Anyone who can illegally download a game can just as easily burn it. It provides no more protection for them at all, it just make it a hassle for people that like to play. I used to make my own images and mount them of my CDs but that doesn't seem to work with simcity. And A no cd patch would be way better anyway.
