I'm getting about 6 to 7 less fps in MoHAA and Quake 3 after updating to OSX 10.2.8. The update was said to have improvements in graphics and audio, but I just don't see it.

Anyone else getting less fps after the update?

I just installed the 10.2.8 update and checked Q3 before and after. I dropped about 1-2fps with 10.2.8. I wouldn't be happy with a 6-7fps drop in performance either. But I don't notice the 1-2fps difference. If it didn't show up in the time demo I probably wouldn't have even bothered to check. I'm not sure why my frame rates didn't drop off as much as yours - maybe it's because I have a single processor instead of a dualie. Here's my setup:
-DA Tower (Graphite)
-1.467GHz Giga-Designs G4
-OEM GF4Ti
-1.5Gigs PC133 RAM
-7200rpm HD

Quake3v1.31 @ 1024*768 max everything (higher than HQ):
OS10.2.6 102.3fps
OS10.2.8 100.8fps

FWIW, my original dual 533MHz cpus got almost the same frame rates as my single 1.467GHz. Just goes to show what a well written SMP app can achive with a dual processor Mac.........joe

Sorry, my bad. Actually the drop in fps was about 2 to 3 points not 6 or 7.

In the beginning of the intro movie of Medal of Honor Allied Assault my fps peaked at 61 fps in OSX 10.2.6 now it is 58 fps and in Quake III my fps is about the same, with fps in the 90s (and stilling peaking at 100fps for a sec) with 1024x 768 res. everything on high) I'm running the latest version of the G4 Velocity Engine enhanced Quake III, it did drop in fps about 1 or 2 points.

I was way off on my initial quick brief observations. Sorry!
