My mom recently bought an eMac. She doesn't quite understand how the mac/pc thing works and her friends give her things like games for the pc to use at home and she doesn't know why they don't work on her computer. I told her I'd find her a mahjong game that worked on her eMac, but haven't been able to find one that's free. Are there any out there?

One problem: it's really just a GUI for xMahjongg, which runs via the X Windowing system. So, you first have to install the linux game xMahjongg, and then the Mac GUI for it. A little more complicated than I would like, but it is free.

yeah, thanks, but I don't think she'd be able to use that. we're talking about a 56 year old woman who tried installing a windows .exe game on her mac. she's not going to be able to understand a thing about any xwindow whatnot. so, I got a free solitair game via .mac but they want you to pay $19 for the mahjong one? what gives?

Also, go to macupdate and do a search for a game called "Double." It's a maahjong type and also free. You can add new icon sets which is good because the icons that come with it are rather silly.
