This topic comes up every now and again in here....and with wintroll's latest rant I thought it was about time to revist the subject. So what do you all think? Is it steadily getting better, worse? Who needs to learn how to port better? What games need to be ported? etc...

i5works plainly sucked at porting. Most of the games they released are buggy and have poor performance (see SimCity 4 and SimThemePark)

Whoever ported Medal of Honor did a terrible job on it too. It's just POS

So far I'm happy with those games ported by Brad Oliver, Blizzard's Rob and his team, OmniGroup guys and several other unknown porters.

No offence to the OmniGroup, but their ports tend to be pain-in-the-ass-slow (SoF2, anyone?)

MoHAA, on the other hand, runs well on my comp, but it could be faster.

SimCity is just.. way too slow.

Yeah...I don't know what it is but 3D shooters and Omni don't mix.

Freedom Force and the Fallouts are excellent ports though.

What's the latest on AvP2 speeds?

OmniGroup did the initial port of OS X Quake 3.
MoHAA performance is just fine for me. Spearhead performance sucked on the PCs and so it sucks on the Mac too.
