Hello all.

I have a 12" Powerbook G4 (867 mhz, 256 mb ram) with which I play Ghost Recon. It's the pac that includes desert siege.

I don't play any of the single player missions, as I play solely over a household LAN at my girlfriend's house.

Anyway, I have a serious problem with this game slowing my computer down to the point of locking it up almost entirely. After three or four games it will generally freeze at the 'after mission menu' or when I attempt to exit.

If I am lucky enough to exit to the desktop, it takes about five minutes to 'get back to normal' during which time I've usually hit command Q at least one.

I was just wondering if anyone had an opinion or possible reason for this. All of my settings are at the lowest possible. No blood, max 15 bulletholes, etc.

Is 256 mb of ram not enough?

Also, as you can see, I am woefully lacking in proper mac (or any computer for that matter) terminology. So please try to restrain flaming as much as you're able... (I can tolerate a bit though ^_~)

Either way, thank you.

It's running regular old 10.2.6.

Needless to say I'm quite confuzzled by it not running well.

I should add, that when I play it over the LAN a Dell PC is acting as the server computer.

My gf has a 733 G4 with 1.5 gigs of ram. She had similar problems prior to upping the ram, though I don't think it ever locked the computer competely.

Any suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks.

Adding 256 MB of ram would help too, I'm sure

As far as I know I have no mods running with the program.

I simply insert the GR disc, then open GR from the dock.

It runs well for around three games, then gets very iffy.

Very frustrating to say the least.

Anyone have any tips or tricks to at least *try*?

...aside from adding more ram... :cough:

Either way, thanks.
