...and buy it. I played EQ for the first time today on my friend's PC. I have to say I really enjoyed it. I love the vastness of it all, despite the really lame graphics at times. I started an Ogre Shadow Knight on his account. It was a blast while it lasted, despite being a puny n00b.

So does anyone actually play the Mac version? I'm going to get it sometime next month and give it a go for a few months, then maybe see how I like it then. It's really lame that we can't play with the PC users. I'll just cross my fingers and hope Sony changes their minds about that.

I have never played EverCrack but I did hear it is addictive. Just like when I went through my MUD phase where I'd spend countless hours and days playing a text based multi-user dimension on the internet, I'm sure I'd get hooked.

But I'm waiting for World of Warcraft...man is that game ever going to be sweet...and look good.

I'm really looking forward to WoW, too, but I can't help it. Should be fun until WoW comes around.

I play. I got hooked during the Mac beta. Been playing the game since it's first week out Mac side. I've been playing a Paladin and have been having a load of fun. The two resident "uber" guilds (Not uber in comparison to PC side) are finally starting to take on some of the bigger challenges such as Kael Arena. The highest level on server is Level 57 held by two beastlords.

I have to say this game is a massive time sink. Personally I feel it is time well spent. My girlfriend and I play together. It's a fun way to unwind and have fun. Things to keep in mind in comparison to the PC server is that the economy is not as developed as that on the PC side and the server is not as heavily populated. The general populace is very friendly and usually willing to help a newbie get on their feet so you should have no issues getting started.

Some good resources for reference:

EQmac Main Eqmac fan site. Forums with lots of knowledgeable and new Mac users.

EQatlas Need a map? This is the place for you.

EQtraders Want to learn about trade skills, look no further.

Allakhazam General reference site for quests, gear etc.

Keep in mind that some of the items and quests listed on these sites aren't in the mac version. We are a year behind on patches and expansions. Hopefully that will be rectified eventually.

Thanks for the info, Osirisis.

It is $12.95 a month, I believe. They have plans where you can buy multiple months for less than $12.95 per month, which I'm also pretty sure of.

Sucks the Mac version is behind with patches and expansions and such. So no high-res models? Well ... "high-res" by EQ standards?

We have the newer Luclin models. Here's a link to a pic with shot with the new models. It's my Soulfire. Picked it up this weekend. Part of my epic. Thought it would give you a feel for the graphics. I personally chose to pay for the year. Only cost me $10 per month that way. The eqmac site forum also has a screenshots section where you can see some other shots to get a feel for how it looks on mac
