there is a beta of 1.10 isn't there?
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Yeah, I thought this update was originally slated to be released last June. I guess it's typical Blizzard style to be way late on their products. However, the products are invariably awesome.

I guess I don't mind it being so late because I'm not sure I really have the time anymore to invest into a D2 character.

/me continues playing WC3.

RUSH ME! PAYING 2 WRINGS! MH SORC ONLY DONT WAIST MY TIME! /w *IMKOREAN

bnet is overrun with losers trying to make a few bucks. Every other message is spam trying to sell you items. When it's not spam it's some 13 yr. old Korean boy trying to get to hell cows.

Then, in-game you get owned by a lvl99 barb with an inventory full of hexes and you lose all your stuff because you "pop".

Then there's accidently selling that one item it took you forever to find or trade for. Why isn't there a confirm dialog when selling items or a way to 'lock down' your gear?

battle net is homo. It's all about getting your friends over with their pb's and playing 6 player over airport at starbucks with the volume cranked and watching the trendies cringe from the shreiks of little imps getting plowed.... oh yeah..

True bnet is filled with a bunch of childish retards. But it's fun to play with your friends, which I do. I hit public cow games just to level. But when my friends and I all get on to trade and help each other level, it's really fun.

I've been waiting for this stupid patch for the last year and a half. It has got to a point that even if they get it out, IF that will ever happen, I won't even bother to play it anymore. Why would I settle for 1.10 patch when it could of been enough time to make Diablo III? Forget it, I'm too pissed at them to even look at their games anymore. Those slow polls, I can drive around the world faster than they can push out a game.

That mad about a patch? I think it's cool they've supported the game as long as they have. I can understand being frustrated about them not releasing, I've been there, but I think it's admirable that they support games for long past what normal game companies do.

I'm sure we've mentioned it before, but D2 1.10 on the Mac will offer a couple new things that OSX 10.2 and 10.3 users will like - you can now choose stretched/nonstretched video on a wide screen display, and get much smoother animation and higher frame rates in OpenGL mode (for qualifying hardware). It would be bad form to do date predictions, but we are in final QA with the patch now.

Hasn't the patch been in "final QA" now since like April '02?

We have been testing against 10.3 (and reporting bugs to be fixed) since WWDC in June. I would argue that the focus on our own game code and heavy testing for correct behavior in all of the game's features (new and old) is what takes the majority of the time.

QA is iterative, you can get to the stage where the features are frozen but QA is finding bugs, so you fix them, and QA gets a newly built version and has to re-check everything, then they find a few more.. until you get to the version that passes all the tests.

We know all the fans want it "now" but we have to be really confident that the code quality is solid, and this is a very rich game in terms of unique abilities and interactions that can happen.

There's no "last minute bug on 10.3" that is holding anything up or anything like that.
