Well, if you have a G5 the minimum is more than 128mb of RAM, to see how much RAM you have go under the Apple Menu and click "About This Mac" at the top. That should tell you how much RAM you have just to make sure. If you have more than 4gb RAM then maybe WC3 screws up for some reason...but I don't really have a clue. Anyway, hope your happy with your new G5.

Well if you have a G5 1.6 w/ stock RAM, you've only got 256MB. And since you're new to Macs, let me explain...Macs LOVE RAM, they adore it, and the more you have, the happier you'll be. I've got 2GB and would like a tad more, but I've maxed out my machine. Definitely try to go for at *least* 512MB, if not more. I'm betting you had thing(s) running in the background eating up system RAM, thus not leaving 128MB for the game...try closing everything & then running the game.

If your machine only came with a pair of 128 MB modules (a G5/1.6) then you should fill the other two slots with at least a pair of 256 MB modules, preferably a pair of 512 MB ones.

Or just pull the 128s and buy four 1 GB DIMMs

Yes, certainly quit any applications first, but get more RAM as well, it always helps, especially with the G5.

!! 8 Gigs of RAM! WOW. That is a ton of RAM, more than anyone would ever ever use lol. But anyway, maybe WC3 can not handle more than 4gb of RAM, it is a 32-bit App. Try going to blizzard.com and their support section. Find a way to email them, most likely support@blizzard.com. Tell them your computer's specs, how much RAM, everything you can think of. And of course the error that WC3 is giving you. Btw, if you didn't know you had 8GB of RAM, did you realize it costs like an extra $2k+ to get that much lol? That's the only reason I can think of that WC3 would refuse to run.

Dude... That is amazing...
Tell you what, you give me your g5 and I'll give you my g4 733 Mhz. It plays WC3 fine.

There is an update for WC3 for this error- I had it too on my G5. Go to Blizzard and download it.
