Greetings all,
I am hoping the Blizzard employee that hangs around stops by here
Anyone seen any definitive information on weather the mac and windows clients will be connecting to the same servers? I'm assuming they will be because I think Blizzard does that right now with there other games. I'd just like to know that for sure.
Also this is probably directed towards he blizzard employee but are they going to do a simultaneous windows and mac beta test?
I'm watching closely for the beta test this game looks better and better all the time Me and my G5 and ready and willing!

Well, if they didn't, it would be a huge shift from past Blizzard games. Like all of them.

I read somewhere saying that it will be a very few months apart (like 1 or 2) between Windows and Mac version of WoW.
As always, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ya I would think you would be able to, but the reason I asked was EverQuest doesn't. The reason I heard for that was that they used too much DirectX even all of the network pieces making it hard to get a non DirectX client connected. So they just rewrote the server and client from scratch, no wonder its so behind :b
I had read they anounced the Mac version later, after the PC one but I hadn't heard they were any further behind on it or not. I hope it starts beta'ing soon I wanted to get in on the mac beta

I *THINK* I heard that WoW would be just like WC3 in that both the PC and Mac version would be on the same disc in the same box...I love that about Blizzard games. I'll def. pick this one up ASAP.

Wow that would totally and completely rock even more then! I would be able to play whether I was on the PC or the Mac I hope it's true I like the way Blizzard does business

Great!
For what platforms will the game be available?
The game will be available on PCs and the Macs. We are developing both versions simultaneously and will be shipping them at the same time, as with our other recent games.

I've read that FAQ before though I had forgotten about the entry saying siumulatious release. I could have assumed then there would be a simultanious beta
But what abou the servers? I couldn't find that in the faq. Since the rest of Blizzards software lets PC and Mac users connect together I'm assuming this one does too but its always bad to assume

w/ 32MB DDR video memory?

They havn't given any idea of system requirements for the Mac yet. I have not seen performance numbers on the Radeon 9200 but if I would have to make a guess I would say it would run pretty well. Not extremely well but playable at least. Generally they have been saying 64MB video cards on the upcoming MMORPG but I don't know how much real difference it will make. I'm pretty sure as far as the macs are concerned you'll need a G4, and probably a higher end G4 like the 800Mhz+
