Anyone have the 1.25 ghz iMac? How well does it do as a gaming platform?

(And no...I'm not looking at the iMac as a strict gaming platform -- they're just nice to play once in a while)

It really depends what kind of games you're into. For most stuff though, it should be fine.

It'd push WarCraft III, Myst, and most RPG's just fine.

It'll even play Unreal Tournament, UT2K3, Quake III, and Ghost Recon alright, but may have trouble w/ lagging in SoF II & RtCW.

You can play a majority of the newer Mac games on it, but don't expect full detail options.

RTCW will play fine on it, I played it fine on a 1 GHz G4. SOFII will have a little problem at some scenes with it, but other than that a lot of games like The Sims and whats listed above will play fine.

i only ran a few games on my aunts 1.25 when i was setting it up for her. Tony Hawk 4 was just ok, and Unreal Tournament ran at around 20 FPS with medium settings.

im sure panther will improve the situation, becuase it made games like UT much better on my Dual 867.

Don't play it with War3 seriously, get a PC for that game.

Anything else is fine though.

You say so much stupid.
The machine will run warcraft 3 great, and with panther it should be completely perfect.

On my 1,25ghz powerbook 15" the game runs smoooth, and that's whit 10.2.
With 10.3 it should be even better.
