After installing the recent update, I can't get Alice to stretch to fill my screen.

It says it "updated to support widescreen," so I got all excited, but apparently the "fix" is to not stretch it

Black bars make me sad....

Since it's a Quake 3 engine game you can use the same tricks to get widescreen working. I think the only Mac Quake 3 engine game which doesn't support widescreen is multiplayer Soldier of Fortune II.

A quick google search should help you out.

Their is documentation in the OS X updater for Alice that tells you exactly how to do this.

Run the update again, and check out the readme it displays.

Ah, erm, sorry about that…_I guessed it would be the same as the process for JK2 (as did the above poster), but I couldn't figure out how to open the Alice console.

Thanks though... shows me for skipping the Read Me... ha

Mmkay, it says to open the console from "Game Options," which seems to be accessed by holding down "option" while opening the game. But there's no console-enabling option in that window. I just edited the config file instead, but it'd be nice if I could somehow access the console....

You enable the console from within the game itself. I don't have the app open in front of me, but from the same screen that you configure the audio, video and keys (the one with the picture of the head numbered 1-4) is a screen to configure other things. On this is a checkbox that says something to the effect of "Allow console window". Check that and you're good to go.
