I'm having sped up/distorted sound problems in SOf2, and it's REALLY annoying!
I've lowered the Khz in the Audio/Midi app to 32Khz/16 Bit, the lowest my G5 goes (I usually run it at 48Khz 24 Bit), but the game only does 22Khz (max quality) here in I think is the problem, but it doesn't affect other games, very strange.
After lowering to 32Khz in the Audio/Midi app, the speed has gone from a chipmunk impersonating 4X as fast, to about twice as fast and just about understandable, unfortunately, there is still a LOT of very loud audio distortion as well.
I have turned down/off the soundtrack so it's not "quite" as bad but it's still pretty terrible; Also the splash screens for Activision and Raven Software that play at the beginning of the game are sped up A LOT, along with suitably sped up and distorted audio.
I've tried manually altering the Khz to 48Khz or whatever my G5/audio/Midi app can do, but it automatically reverts to either 22Khz or 11Khz, neither of which appear to be available on my G5. NO other games that run in either 22Khz or 11Kz (just about every Q3 engined game) appear to have a problem with or like this.

Ok just after e-mailing/ harassing Macplay & Omni about this prob I worked out the solution.
I backed up usrs/me/Library/appsupport/sof2sp folder (to preserve my game saves and my performance tweaked .cfg) deleted the game, and reinstalled, tried the game, same prob, realised I had not deleted my orig usrs/me/Library/appsupport/sof2sp folder (BIG doh!) so I deleted it, and all audio was at the normal speed (music and sfx) as well as the splash screen.
There were still audio artefacts so I changed the prefs in audio/midi app to 44100hz/24 Bit which is exactly/near enough devisable by 22000Hz, and the audio artefacts went away too, so now I have perfect audio, it sounds GREAT!
P.S I found the setting/alteration in the .cfg that "I" had made that was causing the problem, I had increased (doubled) the standard chunksize command (s_chunksize ****) to 2048 (from 1024) this improves performance but super speeds up the audio in Sof2, although I have had no probs doing this with any other Q3 engined game; ow well!
Hope this helps someone out
