WTF. The installer says I should be running 10.2.6 or later and won't let me install the game. How do I work around this?

Delve into the package and there's another installer.

But now I've got another problem. At the end of the Disc 1 install it asks you to insert Disc 2 to continue. Well, OSX won't allow me to eject Disc 1 because it says it's in use. Doh. Now what?

The same thing happened to me, but my persistence forced me to double-click on the application again...and voila! It worked.
"And in other news, Lando Griffin, a popular student at a local high school, was killed last night when his motorcycle careened off Dead Man's Curve. Police were baffled when no body was found at the scene, but they decided it was best not to ask questions and just let everyone get on with their lives."

How did you get this thing to install? I'm installing on a Alu Powerbook 1Ghz but I can't even get Disc 1 to eject in order to complete the install. If I press continue it asks me to change the disc, if I try to eject OSX tells me the disc is in use and if I cancel it deletes the files already installed.

Bump. Anyone? Otherwise I'm going to get a refund.

Found the answer. Copy the installer to the desktop and run it from the HD. Then its not using the CD1.

OK, so after a fifty hour install it's up and running with the latest patch. Still asks for the CD though.

OK, my specs are a rev A Alubook 17 1Ghz, all default specs, connected to a 23 inch Cinema Display.

First I ran it at 1920x1200 at 16 bit with no adjustments to the ini file. Run a little jerky but still fast enough to play.

Then I made some adjustments to the ini and am running it at 1344x840 at 16 bit with the full 64MBs VRAM. This is smooth and I kicked bot butt. I'm going to fiddle with the settings to see what I can max out at and still get good play, then run benchmarks.
