I have a Dual 1.8 G5 stock with a 20" Apple LCD 1.5 of RAM and the games does not run at all. I tried on my cousin Dual 1.4 G4 and the same thing happens.

The intro movie loads and play but once it gets to the tittle screen and tries to load the game itself it quits all the time. I contacted Macsoft and their reply was really stupid, they said that the game was not ment to be run under Mac OS X.

Is anybody having the same trouble?

Oh by the way the games runs on my Powerbook 12"

well it runs on Panther with my 1st Gen PB17. It is a stock model except for the extra 512 Mb I added.

I'm even running it at 1440 x 900.

*snip*

That's a load of bullcrap. Don't EVEN let them get away with that. Their website lists 10.2.8 as a requirement.

Anyway did you try reinstalling it? Check the logs using console to get some idea about why it's crashing. Also try creating a disk image of the cd and use that instead of the cd itself.

The problem is caused by having a partition named "Data". Rename your partition to something else and it should work correctly.

This is the same bug that was in AoE II right after release. What a shame.

My main HD is not partitioned, but I have a 2nd HD named Video and a Firewire named DATA. Would the firewire being named DATA cause the problem?

Yes. Any partition named "Data" regardless of it's type will cause this problem. Remove the drive and try running the game, should work fine.

I for one had the same problem with a FireWire device as well. Once I renamed it, the game worked flawlessly.
