I don't think you have to worry. I don't know the difference between a rev. A and B but if it's the one currently at Apple's site you should be well above the required (1.33 Ghz, Radeon 9600, 512 MB RAM). At least it will run better than on my eMac...

Considering I'm playing the game on a rev B 12" PB well (with some eye candy turned down but vertex shaders on), I'd say the 17" will be awesome.

Runs like shite on mine. I mean, playable but I was far from impressed. MOHAA and other games have far better graphics and run better at twice the res.

I'd like to drop Halo down to 16bit color and adjust it to the native res. How do I do it?

From what I can tell Halo is 32bit color only as I'd like to attempt the same thing.

That's seriously bad considering the settings and the hardware. Even worse considering the graphics are crap compared to some shooters. This game has a seriously slow engine.

Turn these two options off and you should see a nice speed boost.

Nope. Gives me less than a 1fps increase. However, switching to Vertex shading only increases fps to 37+, but it does not look as cool.
