Has anyone been able to play this game successfully on panther. I get to the medical examiner's office and then it hangs every time. I kind of feel like I'm the only person in the world (mac side) even vaguely interested in this game...oh well, I guess a waste of money yet again on a mac game.
Poop.

Well, I'm interested. My daughter loves the show, and I almost bought it for her for Xmas. Then I decided to wait, as she's already getting quite a lot and her birthday is in February.
Is it fun? Are there enough different things going on to make it worth the money?
I'm still running Jaguar, but will probably upgrade everything to Panther after Christmas. Have the software, but not, at the moment, the time.

I've read that this game was out and was planning to buy it. I'm a huge fan of the show (though not the spin-offs). But I also recently upgraded to Panther. Looks like I'm going to be monitoring this thread for a while before I buy.
PS - can the game run from your hard drive or does it require you to always have a play disc inserted?

Well, after much troubleshooting I was able to get the game working. First of all, you have to make sure the dock is on the BOTTOM or the RIGHT, but not on the LEFT of your screen. If it's on the left, you will loose about 200 pixels of the display.
Okay, so now that's out of the way. Make sure you have the latest Java 1.4 with update one. The game is based on Java.
Okay, now that that's out of the way, yes, you do have to have Disc 2 inserted while you play.
Well, all that aside :-) The game is pretty fun, you investigate things and questions people and submit things for analysis and research, you have people put under surveillance and the such.
It's a puzzle game basically and for that it's pretty fun. However, because of some Java problems on my computer (mainly my own fault from trying to solve the Dock problem) I can no longer play the game until I re-install Panther, which I don't really want to do right now.
Should you buy the game? I don't know, I have a really hard time endorsing this game. If you have a really clean install of Panther and your java is clean it might work, but I bet you will be dissapointed.
Sorry Aspyr.

Thanks much for the review. I'm thinking ... I won't buy it right now. Maybe we'll get the PC version and run it on that machine, instead!

I don't like law and order. Otherwise I'd still not get it. I can tolerate puzzles but I think this game means you're running all over the place doing administrative work.

Those cows won't know what hit 'em. They won't know what hit them even after it hits them, because they're cows.
