Try this:

Res: 800x600
FSAA: Off
Lens flare: Low
Detail: Medium
Detail Objects Unchecked

see how that works for you.

STFU, Donny.

This sounds about perfect for you, Donny. You might even be able to take high models.

halo is so laggy.

Incredible.

I mean, any OpenGL game on OS X is laggy, it's so horrible. I,m ashamed of game performance.

Hold command on startup, and it will get that dialogue back. Make sure you have FSAA off—it messing Halo up on GF cards. Good luck! All the resolution changes you can do from within Halo.

Halo runs great on my machine.

What graphics card is that on?

Its smooth on my 1Ghz eMac (not exactly a beefy machine) except for servers that are slow.

Those cows won't know what hit 'em. They won't know what hit them even after it hits them, because they're cows.
