Okay, I busted my butt to get through Halo, then I was told I can play the last level (The Maw) on Legendary to see the "extra" screen.

I didn't see anything different than what I saw in Normal mode. Do I have to play the entire game on Legendary to see the surprise?

The last time I did this was in Max Payne and it took me an extra week ugh.

Is it just that little 2 second bit about the monitor d00d?

Feel free to PM if you don't want to spoil it for anybody else.

You can find it if you search HBO's movie section.
Or I could do it...

Obviously, this contains spoilers.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

SPOILERS AHEAD!

Based on the Xbox version (I don't think anything has changed anyway), there's about 15 seconds of extra footage. Although you don't get to see Master Chief without his helmet on, you get to see a funny scene involving a human soldier and a Covenant fighting over a gun. They both look over at the exploding Pillar of Autumn and realize that fighting over a gun's not going to make much sense since they're both going to die anyway. The soldier leans over and says, "Hold me," and both he and the Covenant hug each other one last time.

Thanks for the info.

The video at the link is not on the server anymore.

If it is the two guys (Sarge & an Elite) fighting over a rifle, I saw that footage when I played in Normal mode. That would be a disappointing "surprise."

Anybody?

When I finished it on Xbox, the human/elite fighting over a rifle was only shown when the game was finished on Legendary.

I concur, I only got the clip of sarge and the elite when beating mac halo on legendary. Major dissapointment, I was expecting like a whole new ending for my troubles. But, then again, it was really satisfying to be able to say... hey.. I beat this game on legendary. (though, it took me a long time).

Not bragging, but I just started another game in Halo to see if it was a fluke. Playing Normal, it wasn't that hard. So I kicked in another game at Legendary and it was a bit easier than the first time around.

Guess I played the game on Legendary without knowing any better.

No wonder it seemed like a tough game.

I went nuts and played started another game on Legendary. I should finish it tonight (at The Maw right now).

The bridge sections aren't difficult if you have the sniper rifle, the pistol or the rocket launcher.

For most of the game on the 2nd go around, I used a plasma rifle and always carried one of the above. There are also at least two places where you can jump onto a Ghost and blast everything from the air.

There are plenty of tips out there. But I'd say make sure you learn how to throw grenades accurately. I can usually pin one on an elite while hiding behind a barrier, that makes things MUCH easier.
