Has anyone had the problem of when you run along you suddently jump about 10 yards ahead of where you just were running? It's like you are skipping ahead of where you should be (rather than just the normal lagginess of a slower framerate). The problem with this is not just that it is disorienting but also I can land a cannon shot directly on an enemy combatant (from my perspective) but he takes little or no damage. This leads me to believe that what I am seeing is never what is actually happening (time frame-wise). It doesn't seem like normal network laggyness and is seen in small maps with only one other player and all my graphics are turned down.

I have a dual 1.25 tower.

I'm pretty sure you're lagging, and then you jump ahead to catch up with everybody else... The same thing has happened to me a couple times...

In talking to one of the MacSoft people at MacWorld, they said that it may be due to the GameSpy server. They did not suspect network lag since the ping was about 100.

That warping is just a mixture of lag and netcode. A lot of people have complained about Halo's netcode. I think the 1.0.31 patch imporves the netcode a bit.

I've had problems with skipping player movement back when I tried to play Quake 3 on a 56k modem. Things would look fine for a few seconds, then a few seconds later, skip forward about 20 feet. Then it would be fine for another second or two, and then I would be falling off an edge to my death.

Although I have yet to play Halo for mac online, my experience tells me it's most likely lag.
