I am trying to get RtCW to work on my G4 1.25 (single) with Radeon 9000 (two 1280x1024 VGA displays) and 768 MB of RAM. When I launch the game (SP or MP, doesn't matter), the main menu comes up, but it's very dim and the only thing I can do is force quit. If I look at 'top' when logged in from another box, I don't even see a Wolfenstein process. It never shows the intro movies...
I wonder what's going on? I am running the latest patch (the original on the CD didn't help either).
The game works fine on my G3/500, but it's very choppy.
I looked in the various .cfg files but didn't see anything that looked out of whack. Deleting them doesn't help.
OS is 10.2.6.
Suggestions? I've searched Google, Usenet, these forums, but seem unable to find someone who has had the same problem. Quake III runs fine on this machine.

Right after trying to run RtCW, pull up Console.app in the Utilities folder. See if there are any error messages regarding RtCW.
Since your RtCW disk works OK on the G3, a bad game copy is ruled out. That suggests a graphics driver or permissions problem. Upgrade to 10.2.8, most of the 10.2.x updates included OpenGL and other graphic-related fixes. Do a permissions repair right afterwards. Then obtain the latest ATi driver updates for your card, they are even more recent than the drivers included with 10.2.8.
In case it's a preferences issue, create a new user and try to launch RtCW as that user. If it launches OK from another user account, then it's time to find and delete the preference file(s) in your home Library folder.

The exact same copy of Wolf works on my dads iBook G4. We have the same exact computer, both running 10.3. But it does the wonky thing on mine. If it's a preferences issue, how do I fix it? I've never had to do that before. Thanks.

Well, I restarted my iBook and now Wolfenstein runs. I don't know why, but it does. Now I just need help with cheat codes, heh.

This was exactly the solution I found -- rebooting worked. I've noticed this happens as my Mac stays up for days/weeks on end.
Good luck with the game...I got pretty far into it, but it started creeping me out majorly in the higher levels, so I didn't finish it. Hey, I might sound like a wimp, but it scared the **** out of me. :-) Big imagination combined with a big screen wasn't so good :-).
