As it is *NOT* a "first come, first served" deal, you might be better off waiting til later tonight or tomorrow to sign up, when the load eases a bit.

The only chance I'd buy WoW is if I got in the beta and was impressed. I'm just not into the pay-for-play thing, especially when you still have to purchase the game and get *no* functionality for doing so. Here's hoping (also waiting for SC:Ghost, definitely snapping that up).

Yes I too have a problem with the buy the game get nothing model. I hear it works for some games like Everquest, but I've never been a fan of online multiplaying.

OK. Registered. Hopefully I'll get selected so I can find a MMORPG that I actually like. Everquest blows and Lineage wasn't far behind...

I'm now WoW-ized
I wonder how many players they're seeking to beta-test WoW? I heard it's the largest in history.

I think as Mac gamers, we have a really good chance of getting into the beta, because there just isn't that many of us around since most WoW players are PC gamers. So we have a great chance of being picked. I am going to say that everyone in here will be picked if they sign up, they do need as much mac testers as possible, and well, we are quite rare, or at least compare to PC gamers. We should form a Mac Gamers Guild in the game, we Mac gamers need to stick together and stand our ground in the game.

I think the drawing is closer to a lottery than what you describe, so it's pretty fair, each person has about the same net chance of getting in. Just IIRC.

Nice! anyway you can make this a background image? I also want to print out the photo with 8.5x11 so I can put it on my wall. How would I go about to do this?
Thanks,
Ming

I signed up for the beta, however, I'm surprised no one saw this yet...
Did you guys take a look at the suggested specs? The Mac specs are MORE demanding than the PC specs?! I dare say that has NEVER happened with any Mac version of a game, no? How could it require 1Ghz for Mac and only 800Mhz for PC?

Those are not the final specs fortunately, they say the app has not yet been optimized for neither Mac nor Windows.

Yea, the number should come down when the final is out or towards the end of the beta testing stage.
Yea, I'm up for a Mac Gamers Guild. Let's form one. I don't think we'll have a big guild though... since it will be hard to find gamers that are using Macs. But if we could some how post the Guild info on all the Mac Gaming websites and asking all of the Mac gamers who are playing WoW to join, than we might get a nice large guild going. If we work together, I think we will be able to pull this off and make a nice guild size for Mac gamers only.

I am a mac user, fond of blizzard, but I have an European, shipping adress, so that leaves me out of the first 2-3 test waves(like it was it in the TFT testing), but I don't give up the hope.
If ur creating a guild for mac users, Iam intrested to, and if anybody has a printer friendly version of the picture "play different" let me know. Thx

The image above I made is just a quick photoshop job inspired by nobitacu's post.. I don't have a bigger size because that is the biggest image I can find at blizzard site.
If someone found a bigger pic, I would be glad to remake it with better quality.

I printed it out and resized it to 8.5" X 11" using Easy-PhotoPrint Plus, and it turned out looking pretty good. It printed in landscape mode. The picture is now on my wall. ^_^
The only difference is that after I printed it out, the picture is darker than what it should be. Now it really looks like night time. It still looks good, so I don't mind it.
Thanks again for making that Play Different picture.
