I've been playing Halo online, and noticed the other night that the servers I've been playing on aren't showing up. I went to Bungie.net and notice they released a new version - 1.04 of the PC client and dedicated server.

So, the question is, when are us lowly Mac folk going to get a 1.04 version so we can play with the rest of the world? As it is now, I go into the server list and there are about 100 players online..

I noticed this as well. Who knows when we'll see the update... I certainly miss having all those servers to choose from.

I can still play online with my PC friend though.
He updated to 1.04 and we were still able to join the same servers.
Maybe the update doesn't seperate us mac and pc users like the 1.03 one did

Perhaps it's only an issue with dedicated servers? I know my server list has been severely shortened since this update was released.

Or maybe the servers you and your friend are playing on are still 1.03 servers. So long as the server hasn't updated, I would imagine PC 1.04 clients and Mac 1.03 clients could access the same server (which is 1.03). As soon as the servers you play on are upgraded to 1.04, it may be a different story.

There a note at the MacSoft Halo support page saying they are working on a update for 1.04 compatibility. Says a couple of days... just have to play UT2k4 until that time...

...the update broke Halo. the 'w' key now moves you backward and there is no way to reassign it. Every key you push when you try shows up as an 'x'.

Same here. I was hoping they would post a downgrader, or a fix, but looks like I have to reinstall.

From InsideMacGames:
Late Friday night, James Robrahn from MacSoft posted to the IMG forums, saying they were working over the weekend on trying to pin down the problems some users are experiencing:

James from MacSoft. It's 10PM here and I just got of the phone with Phil at Westlake. We are trying to determine the cause of this issue.

None of our testing machines in our office showed this issue. Also, none of our beta testers saw this issue either.

I will be heading into work tomorrow and try to solve the problem, with Phil's help.

Will keep you updated.

More info should be available soon, so stay tuned to IMG for the latest.

I can't even get 1.0.3 to install. It tries, and then says "the search did not show up an installed component," or something like that. It's a legal copy I bought from CompUSA. The only thing I can think of is that it has to do with me having FileVault enabled.

I can't seem to get Multiplayer to work anymore!

This is BEFORE the 1.04.1 update and I was playing online earlier today, but everytime I hit the "get list" or "refresh" button Halo freezes and I have to force quit!

Try delete Halo Preferences

BTW, I'm only getting around 60 servers with latest patch. I thought there should be around 1,000 servers

I just tried the 1.041 update. I still have the walking backwards key but now I also have the entire game in wireframe mode only. Looks really ......urm....... bad.

I might do a quick reinstall.

Anyone know how to keep your saved games?

The master server was apparently down for a little bit yesterday, which is why people couldn't get a list of servers.
