I'm getting a 1ghz 17" imac soon.... will Halo run alright on it? It has the 64 meg DDR geforce 4mx, which is apparently the same thing as a Geforce2mx, which sucks. Would a newer iMac be A LOT better since it has the 5200 ultra, or would it be only marginally better?

Also, I'd like to try it before I buy it. I haven't been 'in the loop' for a while, can someone tell me where to get a pirated version of it? I WILL BUY IT if I can run it well..... if not, I'll just wait for a newer computer or something.

I heard there was a demo in the works, so I'd guess it would be best (and not to mention actually legal) to wait for that than to pirate it.

You should ge the 1. 25 GHz 17" iMac instead. It has the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra, a better card than th MX4. I've seen Halo played on a 1GHz 12" PB with the 5200 Go card. Played fine most of the time. Keep in mind that portable graphic cards are a lot less powerful than their stationary cousins.

Also it has been said that the GForce 4MX is the same as the GForce 2. The GForce 2MX is not the same as the GForce 2. MX are the cheapo versions.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Yes, but I don't care. What are you guys using these days? Hotline? Limewire? What program will allow me to obtain a free copy? I want to buy the game, but not if it runs like ass.

I know it's been a while since you've been around, Cash, but the rules regarding illegal acts on the forums haven't changed. Please don't ask questions that you know I can't let be answered within the bounds of MacNN rules.

How would it be illegal for me to try it? As long as two computers arn't operating the game at the same time, it should be legal. IF anyone has a LEGAL BACKUP copy online, and knows how I could access their backup copy, please let me know.

Bwahahahahah! Man, I know you aren't that ignorant. How about just going to an Apple Retail Store and telling the clerk, "Hey, I just want to TRY it before I BUY it dude! Just let me take it home and see if it runs like ASS on my iMac! Don't worry, I'll be sure and bring you some money if I like it."

Bwahahahahah!

Nice try, but no. One more chance before we do the locky locky thing.

As someone else noted, a demo is coming out soon.

If it helps you any, I have a friend playing everyday on a 733/Geforce 2mx. He loves the game, and can usually host up to 6 people before I start noticing dropped frames.

I'm running it on a 933/geforce 4ti.
I was here but I disappear
