I've noticed everyone's been complaing that we don't have counter-strike on the mac but have you guys tried SAS?
SAS is basicly another CS clone but with added realism and amazing new features. It's a mod for UT2003 which means it may need high computer stats.
Not to mention the graphics kick the crap outa CS. It is definately the best in an on-going series of it's genre. Only problem is that practically no one plays online. In fact, I can't seem to get the online portion working at all. But there's always bots
For you people whining about the lack of CS you have got to try this out http://www.sas.jolt.co.uk/

P.S. I forgot to mention the best part, the mac version comes with it's own installer package, no extra steps, so you don't have to tweak anything to get it to work, it's just so beautiful...

So.... it was finally released? Interesting. I'll have to give it a try tonight. I lost track once they moved development from UT to UT2K3.

So where do you download it from? I clicked on Downloads, a new window opened, but I didn't see it anywhere.

I ready to try it though!!!

Thanks....downloading now. Thank god there is another option than the sucky File Planet servers. I'm using the last Mac server listed and getting 115K/s right now.

I agree. I hate FilePlanet with a fiery doom! I try to avoid FilePlanet as often as I can, it's slow, it won't let me log in with Safari, it has obscene waiting times, you have to pay for a decent membership,
it's the devil in website form!

Got it downloaded and installed. When I try to launch, I get:

sasUT2003x.ini not found in (user)/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/System! Will attempt to use sasUT2003X.ini from backup.

I dismiss that box and get:

sasUser.ini not found in (user)/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/System! Will attempt to use sasUser.ini from backup.

Can you email me those files?

The game does ask me to locate UT2003, I do so, but then SAS fails to launch. Any ideas?

You don't need the files, it said that to me too. Just locate UT2003 and when it starts up it should just be black, then press escape twice and click "forfeit." That should get you to the main menu.

I know I said it works flawlessly but I was exaggerating. It does work more easily then any mod I've played for UT2003

I did locate UT2003 and it doesn't start up. Now it says:

sasUT2003X.ini and/or sasUser.ini not found in (user)/Library/Application Support/Unreal Tournament 2003/System! Backups also missing! Quitting now. Please run 'iniDropInstall' found in your Mac Frag Ops Install Kit, or install these files manually.

Suggestions?

Wow, that's weird, I guess I'm just lucky when installing mods. I could send you those files when I get home. You're using panther right?

Still no luck in getting it to work. Guess I will have to wait for an updated installer.
