It's only in beta and it already does. In spades.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAHAH!

Oh, I love it when people think that WoW will beat EQ.

Whew. I needed a good laugh. Thanks.

Until you've played both, I wouldn't laugh. WoW is brilliant. EQ was probably great in it's day, but buy the time it made it to the Mac, it was getting tired. WoW is the next step in the evolutionaly chain, and Blizzard has executed perfectly.

You tell people that you can't laugh until you played both, and then you call it "perfect" and you haven't played it yourself. Hypocrite.

I have played both. I have been in the Friedns and Family Alpha for a few weeks and am now in the beta.

I'm guessing because of your caustic tone and inflamitory posts that you are a windbag speaking without knowledge. It seemed a pretty safe bet.

Buahahahah.

Send me your address. I'll snail-mail you all the beta CDs that I have lying around. Maybe you can make a mosaic out of it.

Just admit you never played EQ.

EQ was probably great in it's day, but buy the time it made it to the Mac, it was getting tired.
What do you mean by "probably"? If you played it, YOU'D KNOW!

I played EQ. Only on the Mac. I was part of the Beta test and tried to get into it. Never clicked. If I had started when in came out on Windows (I was into Ultima Online at the time) I might have enjoyed it.

EQ still has appeal to many I suppose, but I can say w/o hesitation that WoW will have a much broader appeal. The visuals are a gneration better (as is the over all atmosphere, sounds, etc) the game play is less tedious and is much more suited to the casual gamer.

The Mac version of EQ is a FRACTION of the Windows version. You can't even play with Windows users.

There, you just admitted that you never actually played the FULL version of EQ.

Not only that but you said it never "clicked" so I'm guessing you just didn't get it.

Thanks for playing, and be sure to use the "big balls" statement in your next argument.

Oh, and you might want to do a little reading on EQ2...just for sh*ts and giggles.

Take note that this is a Mac gaming forum. Excuse the F out of me for focusing on Mac games.

You're right. I didn't. I am a casual gamer. I am up at 3:00 AM becuase I am working, not because I'm gaming, getting my jerk on to scantily clad 3D rendered Elves or reading comic books. I'm not your stereotypical EQ fanatic. I'm not the disturbed that I don't "get it."

OOOOOOOOH.... a zinger!

I was in the Mac beta test too. EQ is lame. It has a poor interface, poor graphics, poor fighting. I am pretty amazed that it ever proved to be popular. I guess PC users just have lower standards.

Starman, why on earth are you being so defensive? EQ is good, and I'm sure WoW will be good as well (from some limited toying with the alpha I can say it seems good so far). It all comes down to personal preference. Personally, I'm a little less confident in WoW than I once was since Blizzard's top devs left... but as an avid Diablo fan, I still think it'll be fun. Also, being a Blizzard game, we can expect consistent and game-improving patches as well as a massive user base.
Be happy.

You really should understand the user base they have to support before you say that. Also, the PC graphics are different than the Mac graphics.

What bluff did you call exactly? I'm still not sure. You accused me first of not having played WoW, which I have, than of not having played EQ, which I have. Then you said it didn't count because it was the mac version. Let me reiterate what I stated in an erlier post, the name of this forum is Mac Games. Why would Windows games be relavent.

And I'm pretty sure your full of it as to your claim of being in the WoW beta test. I've no proof, but a pretty strong hunch.

You didn't "play" EQ. You dabbled in it. I've been playing it for over 4 years now.

Windows games are VERY relevant since it's what we have to compare against, both in quality, framerates, graphics, sound, etc. Windows games are in 5.1 audio, and we're LUCKY if we get that kind of support. Have you seen the Mac benchmarks for UT2K4? Pathetic.

You can hunch all you want. People here that know me know I'm not full of sh*t.

Well folks, is he?

And if you are in the WoW beta- let me know your character name/names and what world you are in and let's meet up. Shut me up and preserve your iron clad reputation.

Sorry, dude, nothing personal, but that's kind of pathetic. 4 years @ $12.95/month -- but then, I've got a wife, 2 kids, lots of friends, a job, and a life, so who am I to say anything about online gaming?
