Actually, it made things worse. Neither original version nor the recently released patch work; both start and quit without doing anything. Even changing the monitor frequency rate didn't help things.
I'm starting to think that the only way I'm going to play this game is to buy another drive, downgrade to 10.2, and then play.
Oh well.

I'm wondering if it's the fault of the porters, or the fault of the supposedly "cross-platform" engine that even the original game used. (the new lithtech something-or-other)
Either way, it's a sad thing for gamers, because that's quite a cool game usually.

Who ported NOLF2? It's the biggest mystery ever. Does anyone know? Heh, it's probably best that we don't know...that company would get lynched.
Of course there was a big controversy on this very forum about how IMG sneakily changes game review scores. At this very moment IMG has given NOLF2 a 9.5 out of 10. And readers have given it 4.5 out of 10.
IMG might now change it but it's too late...I've saved the page onto my HD and taken a screenshot as some proof.
And IMG has the balls to tell us they don't try to push shitty ports onto us. Sneaky bastards.
edit: Of course...they review based on graphics, sound, value and gameplay. There should be another category that groups things like; how buggy the game is, how Mac-like the port is (if it respects using Application Support to make better use of the multiuser aspect of OS X, if it can respectably be contained in a single bundle, the install procedure)...so as long as it's purty, sounds good, has super gameplay, and good replay value, the game can be as buggy as hell, it'll still get a high score...but whatever...carry on IMG.

I think NOLF2 was ported by the Omni Group, who coincidentally are no longer in the game porting business. It's a shame that NOLF2 was released with such a showstopper bug, and that it has not been fixed yet, becuase it really is a great game. I installed OS 10.2.8 on a external hard drive just so that I could play it.

I thought so too...but I don't have the game so I don't know. Omni normally puts a fancy splash screen with their name in clear evidence. And when a game is ported by Omni, it's always mentionned on game sites or on Omni's own website. But NOLF2 is a really a mystery.
