Loved UT, skipped UT2003, just bought UT2004. Got a really basic query!

How do you tell who is on your side and who isn't?

The manual wasn't any help. I've shot people with green text above them, people with red, and both yell "Same side!".

How do you tell who to shoot at?

All Red Players are on team Red, Blue players on team blue. In team games every model changes to become mostly red or blue. To see what team you are on, just hit F1, and I think that the HUD changes to your team color, but I am not sure.

Don't your team mates have a triangle above their head?

The real secret easy way is to look at your HUD. If the surrounds are red your are red - blue if you are blue

Yeah, team mates have a triangle on top of their head, but it might get lost at long distances.

A green triangle indicates a person on your team has the Link Gun in hand, so you can link up and boost them with your own Link Secondary. That's the fastest way to build nodes and heal vehicles. Makes for a very powerful infantry attack, too, especially in narrow spaces.

I really thought the color thing was a dead giveaway. Great game though... have fun playing it!
