I just got a brand new iBook G4. I'm loving the machine, and I was very happy to see it came with deimos rising (I love ambrosia). For some reason the game always gives me an error when I try to play. I can open the game and mess with preferences, but when I click on the level select part it gives me this error (more or less) "error: some files are missing or corrupted". I tried restoring the game from the software restore CDs, but it does the same thing. EV Nova is running great (almost done with the polaris line). Any suggestions? Thanks,

-Ezra

Brand new? That's weird! Hope your 'Book is fine.

I'd try rebooting with Shift held down (does a desk check/repair), then reboot again without Shift (to get back to normal operation), and then do a Repair Permissions using Utilities/Disk Utility. That's just basic troubleshooting maintenance if you haven't already tried that.

There might be a preferences file you could throw out too, but I couldn't see one on my system.

Good luck.

My parents got a 20" iMac that has problems with DR crashing at random points in the game. I've repaired permissions and trashed prefs but no joy.

Just an idea... have you tried downloading the non-bundle version of DR from Ambrosia? At least then we could finally clarify if it is a hardware problem or just something with your install!
