I've just installed Deus Ex on my iBook 600 MHz ATI Rage 128 Mob 8MB, and it's a great game. Sadly I've haven't taken the time to explore it until now. The last time I tried was on a iMac 450 with the demo. Unfortunately it was a bit to slow on that machine.
My only problem now is the extremely dark screen, which makes it unplayable. I've set the settings on the brightest, but it doesn't matter. I've also tried to edit the DeusEx.ini "Brightness=5.000000" (default is 1.000000), but no improvment. I'll try to play around with the settings a little more, but how do I get the brightness to a acceptable level?

Tnx.

From memory I think there were problems with ATI rage cards and deus ex.

Have you got the latest patches? I seem to remember this fixed the problem on my indigo iBook.

Deus Ex is at 1.0.3 and MP patch. I think that should be the newest patch out there, or so it seems.

I found that putting the screen resolution at 1024x768 helped alot, bringing the screen brighter. But it's a bit strange that the screen should be so dark at 640x480, almost unplayable. Oh well.

Atleast going 1024x768 helps alot when sniping.

There was a texture problem with the ATI cards that could be fixed if you set a parameter. That isn't this problem though.
