This looks sort of interesting. I'd be interested to know how well it actually works for FPS games though... so far there is just an E3 trailer but no demo video or anything like that.

i wonder how that thing tracks motion? i mean, am i going to have to wave that thing around in the air to look around? that's crazy talk. also, it seems like the wheel might not be in the most comfortable place. I dunno; it'll be very interesting to see how this works out.

yeah I still am not sure how it works... says it has an 800dpi sensor but really doesn't give much info on how you use it.

It was demoed at E3 I think, but I didn't go. I was hoping maybe someone here had been to E3 and saw it demoed and could explain a bit better on how well it works, etc.

Looks to me like it would work like an optical mouse. You would have to keep it on the desk and as you run it over the desk it would act similar to a mouse. Might not work to bad to replace the mouse in a FPS game.

I can`t think of another way to say this: what a piece of cr*p!
The bottom part is a standard optical mouse-but with a pistol on top.
It requires much more muscular effort to play with that thing than with a mouse. Just wait till your hand starts cramping up.

Your saying its not fun to take a gun and actually aim it at your enemies and pull the trigger!? Looks kick ass to me.

Games made to be played with a Lightgun are fun-just think Time Crisis on PS1-but that`s not the way how this thing works. It has to stay on the desk-thereby eliminating the "point-and-shoot" element.

I don't know about you....but I also use the mouse to look around in 3d games....and, in real life, I don't think people use guns to look around...at least, I'd hope not.

what is your point. in real life people don't use mice to look and move around either.

and it's not already from the regular mouse

actually I think a gun-shape is a little more ergonomic than a mouse. And holding my hand upright in-line with my arm feels much better and more natural than twisting it on its side to hold a mouse.

just try it without holding anything. just hold your hand upright as if you were holding a gun.. doesn't feel bad... now turn your hand on its side like you were grabbing a mouse. I dunno about you but when I go from the upright position (gun) to the side position (mouse) and now having a comparison, there is a very noticeable tension in my outer wrist in the mouse position. There is no tension or strain in the gun position. It seems pretty natural (not that I shoot guns all the time, but that is the general position our hands-to-arm is in most of the time.. that is with the hand in-line with the arm).

My point is that this product will probably not be as good as a traditional mouse for FPS games, from what I can tell.

I think it will be awkward.. you guys are forgetting that you still need one of your arms to be at the w,a,s,d possition and have easy access to spacebar, shift, and ctrl for most basic fps games. even the 'r' button and 'q' are needed. well think about trying to aim that gun while sitting so close to the screen you can't even extend your arm fully. that is not natural gun shooting position. and if you do extend your arm, then how is your other arm going to to be placed naturally on thte keyboard?

also, think about this.. it might be so incredibly realistic when you are using a pistol in the game.. but when you use a sniper rifle? or an automatic? what about throwing weapons, like grenades?

I don't know Im really skeptical about this, the keyboard mouse combo is going to be harder than that to overthrow
